Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has condoled Daniel Madueke Nwafor and family over the passing of their lovely father, late Chief Dr. Martin Azunna Nwafor, an APC stalwart, who he described as a great man who was part of the founders of transformation agenda being enjoyed in the State due his great inputs in the polity.

Prince Madumere made this commendation on behalf of Governor Okorocha when he visited Nwafor family earlier today during the burial of late Pa Martin Nwafor at their country home in Umunoha in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State.

Madumere who had in his entourage Chief Marcon Nlemigbo, Chief I.B. Okafor, Dr. Ifeanyi Ekenasi among others recalled his Association with Late Pa Nwafor who was in charge of his campaign during days of Action Alliance, the party on which platform he ran for Senate. He said late Pa Nwafor was a progressive of note who remained positive with hard work in every project he believed in whatever facet of life.

In the same vein, he reminded the guests of the Nwafor family of the effort of Daniel Nwafor at the formative stage of Agenda the political machinery that gave birth to Rescue Mission Government led by Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He therefore eulogized Daniel for remaining steadfast. Prince Madumere also paid his condolences to the widow of Late Pa Nwafor praying that God grants her the fortitude to bear the loss.

He prayed for the repose of Pa Nwafor’s soul as he rests in the bosom of The Lord.

In response, Hon. Nwafor who was dumbfounded over the out pouring of love from the Rescue Mission Government high profile functionaries thanked everyone who came to be with his family. He however singled out Imo Deputy Governor and the Chief of Staff as his biggest benefactors who had given him the opportunity with so much support.

RE: Imo Governor Shouts Down Deputy For Nursing 2019 Guber Ambition

…Who is afraid of Madumere
The Office of the Deputy Governor of Imo State has read, in consternation, an obvious falsehood published on a blog, 247ureports by mischief makers against the Governor of Imo State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his deputy, Prince Eze Madumere.
We would not have bothered responding to such infantile exercise but for the sake of unsuspecting publics who might be hoodwinked by such diatribe, hence, our resolve to state the obvious.
First, at no time ever had the Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere sought audience with his principal, the Governor of Imo State over 2019 ambition to warrant being shouted down by his boss. We ask, if 247ureports has its facts, could it please publish the witnesses who were present when the incident took place.
Interestingly, those behind this show of intellectual bankruptcy also illogically negated the alleged position of Governor Okorocha to whom they purported to have advised those interested in 2019 to begin to hold secret meetings before open campaigns, which will be announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). This is not only preposterous but bereft of analytical sequence.
Truly, we can understand the pains of the pay masters of the scribblers of the said diatribe when they read Madumere’s statement saying he can die for Rochas. We cannot help it because Madumere’s political mastery lies in the rope-a-dope of humility, stability, trust, passion and above all loyalty with performance. There is nothing to prove any longer for a man who has worked with his principal for over two decades. When Madumere speaks, people listen because he is a man of his word. He once said; if loyalty is a crime, I will continue to be found guilty…” It will also be recalled that Madumere put his life on the line for who he believes in. How many of these political deficits behind this falsehood can die for themselves let alone another.
Therefore using Madumere’s statement when he received members of Rochas Fans Club and Rochas People’s Movement as his response to the said allegation may not just be mischievous but a clear symptom of amnesia.
Those who are knowledgable are aware that Prince Eze Madumere, an American trained technocrat cum politician is in joint ticket with Governor Okorocha and would be more interested in the success of his boss to justify the people’s mandate through democratic dividends. In most of his media outings, he has always made it clear that it is too early to discuss 2019 when they are busy providing dividends of democracy for the people.
Prince Madumere is a pure breed who is never known for political desperation but has always played by the rules. While we appreciate the self inflicted excruciating pains of his detractors in their failures to drag Madumere into filthy fights, we can only assure them that Madumere will never reduce himself to such level of indecency.
We warn and remind the faceless humanoids behind this mischief that those who live in glass house do not throw stones because any attempt in fighting back, they surely will be visited with an irredeemable calamities.
We also warn those in the business of media to tread with caution and be professional in their reportage or even in their speculative writing. If what we read on 247ureports is anything to go by, then we should cry for the future of the journalism profession.

Yesterday, the Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere with the family members performed the final burial of the remains of his step mother, Ugoeze Theresa Madumere who was aged 71.

In the words of the Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, “he is a man who fights for nothing yet gets everything….” A remark made in his introductory speech to usher in the nation’s number two citizen and the Acting President of Nigeria, His Excellency Yemi Osinbajo, to the podium before a mammoth crowd which came out en-masse to receive him at the Imo International Convention Center (IICC). Clearly it was a statement directed at the Acting President but,  however it appeared to have also strayed to not just Osinbajo but another like Osinbajo!

Seated not too far from the Acting President was a reflective copy of Owelle’s description of the Acting President Osinbajo, the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere! A man that carries much of Osinbajo in him as widely interpreted by the assertion of the Imo state Governor on the Acting President; he said: “the Acting President keeps forgetting the lofty position he occupies, I have never seen one  with so much humility”. One of the rare characters also very typical of Prince Eze Madumere; as the Imo State Deputy Governor, he never ceases to stoop the ladder of social strata to get across to his people. Notwithstanding achievements so far, overwhelmed by the humility of the Acting  President, the Governor of Imo State remains one man who understands the significance of humility in aiding true leadership to success like he enjoys at present.

Even in a world polluted with much hate, distrust and envy, lying there somewhere is the much needed unit that consolidates a person’s life endeavour; dependable enough to maneuver through inevitable thick and thins on the path of man’s existence as nature has so designed it. Apparently, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammad Buhari, may have found this un-detachable unit in Professor Yemi Osinbajo; no doubt too, the Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, finds his in Prince Eze Madumere.

When the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere came out for the umpteenth time to further clear the air on the lasting and enduring relationship that exists between him and his boss, the executive Governor of Imo state, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. Clearly and emphatically, he said, in quote, “nothing can separate me and Rochas”. It wasn’t just a mouthed declaration, but rather a statement of fact! Obviously clear to all who have always seen the commitment and bond that exist between the duo!

Madumere’s humility,  loyalty and capacity afford him that uncommon strength that enables a constant reiteration of an age-long loyalty intended to rejuvenate the cogent relationship that exists between him and Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He maintains a resolute stance to his boss’s course without giving any room to suspicion or reasons to be doubted; completely giving himself up for the rise of his boss and mentor, showcasing loyalty engineered by humility.

Placing the character of Prof. Osinbajo on the table of Nigerian politics side by side with that of the Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, only reveals the contemporariness of worthy leadership, which was made even clearer with the message of the Acting President at the Imo State Government House Chapel on the “Contrarian Principle”, highlighting basically the devaluation of flesh in man (desires) which constantly rebels against the spirit of God that seeks to positively direct man.

Osinbajo’s message on the altar of God injects so much air to the much intent curried in the want of man, and unwillingness to do the right things to achieve it, stating clearly that the only route to greatness is “humility”. High positions can be reached in life, but it doesn’t make one great; humility is the key, he said (in quote). To an extent, this must have triggered the Imo state Governor’s appreciative enquiry to the , he said, “Your attitude must have determined your altitude?”

Truly, as Osinbajo released the spirit-led words, he was subconsciously telling a story that is already being translated by one man in Imo, Prince Eze Madumere! So there is no gain-saying the fact that Prince Eze Madumere is a great man on the path of greater things to come!

It is also a lesson for all of us to lead a life of humility. Some of those who occupied the position of authority should learn a lesson of humility of Jesus Christ. Governor Okorocha has learn such Godly attitude, little wonder he does so even with the lowly in the society. The blessings therein can only be appreciated by blessed persons like the Acting President Osinbajo, Governor Okorocha and his humbly deputy, Prince Madumere.

Madumere Challenges Churches on Moral Decadence

….Dedicates chapel of praise

The chairman Mission and Evangelism of Chapel of Praise, Lake Malinda, Achi-Mberi in Mbaitoli local government of Imo State and Deputy Governor of Imo state, Prince Eze Madumere has frowned at the moral decay in the society, adding that the church has a vital role to play in the fight against moral decadence.

Prince Madumere who stated this yesterday at Lake Malinda, Achi Mberi during the dedication of Chapel of Praise by Most Rev Caleb Maduoma advised the Church to go back to the basis and reinvigorate the spirit of catch them young known for the early church.

According to him, the basic instrument to change the world is evangelism as he advised Christians to create time for God.

Madumere said he had a covenant with God to build the chapel for God, adding that the chapel has strengthened his faith.

He revealed that submission to God and prayers are the things that have seen Governor Okorocha and himself through in their journey so far, pledging that he will always stand firm in the things of God.

The Deputy Governor who read the only bible reading taking from 1 kings 22-30 reassures that the Chapel is for Christians irrespective of the denominations.

Earlier in his remarks, the presiding Bishop at the dedication service and the arch bishop of Owerri Ecclesiastical Province, Most Rev Caleb Maduoma while dedicating the Chapel of Praise God congratulated Madumere for the wisdom in building a place of worship for God even as he urged people to seek the face of God especially in this hard time .

He likened Madumere as the Jews that build altar for God wherever they are, adding that the door of the Chapel of Praise is open for people to seek God’s face and His blessings.

Lending her voice, the Vice Chancellor of Imo State University, Prof Adaobi Obasi advised political office holders to seek God, reiterating that it is not common for people to build a place of worship for God.

She congratulated Prince Eze Madumere, even as she thanked God for giving him the wisdom to build the chapel.

Dignitaries that graced the occasion included bishops from various provinces, politicians and high profile professionals of note among others.

Obviously enveloped in a high-staked status; giving opportunities that determine much and empower to inebriation, somehow he still manages self-composure, which is dependent not on any institution or position rather on an innate composition, selfless in standing! He could have been something else but the state Deputy Governor. Yet as destiny would have it, today he is the Deputy Governor! Like salt that refuses to lose its taste, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere, hasn’t changed much a bit; he still is like the guy next door, always ready to mingle, accommodate and listen!

What characterizes the motif behind most of his actions is still shrouded in mystery. More often a time, many think he embarks on risky gambles that in the process may hurt him, including close associates. Though pains of most of the decisions he takes may persist, Madumere retreats not! Marching forward like one who understands the language of the spirits. What people don’t see, he sees and perseveres no matter the inevitable discomforts accruable on the way. A shouting contrast to a perceived leadership norm obtainable on this part of the world; a typical Madumere style of leadership discharge, showcasing contemporary leadership! Clearly and narratively serving the much needed leadership recipe to the Imo people. As it is being brandished in public domain that, any type of leadership befits Nigerians, offering no choice in a supposed political system that advocates for “freedom of choice”. But since the inception of Owelle Rochas Okorocha’s mercurial regime, and the revelation of a selfless and people-submissive Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, a man whose clout is informed by his people-oriented contemporary style of leadership, Imolites now have a choice!
If my thoughts aren’t running riots, I know that the consequence of every decision taken by this leadership icon in life is seemingly embraced in good faith; regardless the storms involved, he accepts it! Which has gotten him this far. He has no control over his unprecedented rise; nevertheless he exercises a determined resolution over the choice of path to follow.

Obviously, it is neither by chance or accident that things seem to be falling in place for him. Madumere may not necessarily be a typical example of a hyper lavish spender, but he sure is a people’s political legal tender, very valuable to the polity and the people. He cuts across every nook and cranny of our social sphere, little wonder everyone has something positive to tell of him.

Recently at the grand reception to celebrate the current Speaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon Acho Ihim, for being the newest President of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association of Africa, an event which had in attendance an array of top political players from the length and breadth of Nigeria and the Africa political space; Madumere as usual was present, together with his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. But in the colorful glitters of a sparkling event, resounding was the exuding pre-speech recognition by these political giants present of the Imo state Deputy Governor. Heralding a most joyful-coated assertion by his boss, the Imo state Governor of his Deputy while also recognizing dignitaries and observing protocols before his speech, he said: “as for you my Deputy…. I will get back to you”, Owelle was left emotionally speechless…. What hasn’t he said about this enigmatic assistant, a reliable son, a son in whom he is well pleased, a headache-free Deputy etc… He must have looked back, remembered how he got the clay, and with creative hands, carefully, tirelessly and patiently he molded the Prince Eze Madumere that we know today. A man that today receives encomiums from world leaders for his simplicity, humility and diligent service to both the Nigerian state and to his dependable boss, Owelle! No doubt, on that day, right inside the auditorium of the Imo International Conference Centre, Madumere appeared conspicuous even among national leaders!

Here is a man, even as a Deputy Governor and regardless his so many Honors and Awards, embarked on a Course work in pursuance of a Masters Degree in History and International Studies at the Imo State University Owerri, which he recently concluded. Though some opinions allude that it was an easy grab for him, since, they say, he cannot be failed as the Deputy Governor. Concurring people’s right to their opinion, I beg to disagree on this; Madumere is a brilliant scholar, intelligent with a sheer determined drive to achieve positive results in life’s endeavor. Notwithstanding his current status as Deputy Governor, he saw what he wanted, he went for it! He worked hard for it, and for those who don’t know and care to know, Madumere is a good reader, he reads and listens well; always ready to learn more every day.

Madumere is naturally a hands-on person. From the writers investigation, he was to study Engineering in the United States but for the scholarship granted him by the PepsiCo, he settled for Management since it was the pre-condition for the scholarship. Despite this, he is a guru in quantitative politics where he  mathematically do a calculation that easily will allow him make predictions in so far as the natural process is not scuttled by other incalculable variables.
It is on record that he predicted the emergence of Donald Trump as the 45th American President long time ago but many knocked his view off with a mere wave of hand. Today, he has been proved right. By his interest in local, national and international politics with interest on how their dynamics affect States, it is only expected that he pursues mastery in the field he has gained so much experience as a participant.

At the conclusion of his programme in IMSU, he still made out time for exchanges with his course mates. Speaking to them on the need to stick and network together; equally calling on them to adopt the “Good Old Boy network tradition” of American students. I guess it was a proposal to always identify with his course mates. Cut out the sensation that may appear to characterize his final session with his course mates, it was a typical taste of Madumere’s humble disposition to power.

Lately, and fast becoming a tradition with his Excellency Prince Eze Madumere, like some super hero who continues to save the day in chaotic situations which could possibly have caused mayhems, Madumere always comes handy enough to save it. Some time ago, the Imo state Deputy Governor had to stop his convoy to ensure the arrest of some touts who were busy extorting unsuspecting Imo citizens by impersonation of Owerri City Development Authority (OCDA) staffs. In a similar case, the Deputy Governor’s convoy was once stuck in traffic. He stepped out of his vehicle, and walked to the root cause of the traffic jam, seeing it was a broken down truck, he offered help to the truck driver which put the truck back on the road thereby easing traffic. There are so many of such Madumerelized heroics; really, too numerous to mention!
A most recent incident that, yet again, had him exhibit his conflict resolution skill was between some tanker driver and civil defense officials. These two have a history of intermittent confrontations, if not handled well snowballs to an economic meltdown, but the Imo state Deputy Governor was not going to have any of that. At this point the tanker driver had blocked the road with his tanker after being ruffled by the security operatives. Mr Humility, the Imo state Deputy Governor, who was inside his vehicle, jumped out of the comfort of his vehicle to mediate (though this wasn’t the first time he had settled a quarrel between these two). After hearing from both sides, he called for peace. Like the touch of a magical wand, instantly there was peace!
The true essence of leadership is service! Madumere has proved himself and continues to prove himself. This is not to praise him or spill sycophancy; it is to celebrate today and tomorrow’s contemporary leadership icon, a man that is always as usual!
In all these, Madumere never forgets that it was his Principal, Owelle Rochas Okorocha who has given him the needed opportunity to be discovered by the people. Of course, all credits must go to Owelle Rochas Okorocha, a mentor of mean repute. And like the Governor of Kano State rightly put, Deputising is all about loyalty, proactive steps to assist your boss succeed. Deputising means putting your boss first; Deputising means eschewing sycophancy and to the glory of God, Governor Ganduje described Prince Eze Madumere as a role model to other Deputy Governors.

The Deputy Governor of Imo State, Prince Eze Madumere has admonished Nigerians against making a decision that could affect their future adversely, attributing wrong and uninformed decisions to gloomy future.

Prince Madumere gave this charge while contributing to the sermon of the hour delivered by Venerable Dr. Sunday Iherue in the Chapel of Praise of Church of Nigeria, Anglican Communion at Lake Malinda, Achi-Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government of Imo State earlier today.

Prince Madumere said that everyone has got a destiny, which linked to their gifts. He said one’s decision and choices could develop such gifts, which will ultimately lead such person to his destiny.

Prince Madumere who read the second lesson from Apostle John chapter 4 reading from verse 43 said: “God in his love has deposited in each and everyone one of us a gift of greatness. Our ability to believe God, develop that which He has given to us is a route to our greatness. I am one of those who do not believe the superstition that our end is a function of our destiny. It is a free will thing. It is a matter of choice to end well. He quoted that ‘thought of God is of good and not of evil for us’. God gave us a choice to go whatever way we choose having planted in our heart the knowledge of good and evil. So the thought of a great destiny or bad destiny is ours.”

He therefore called on Nigerians to pray God to grant them grace to accept their gifts, diligence to make the best of such divine gifts and ability to conquer fears and weaknesses to achieve the goal of a desired destiny.

Earlier in his sermon titled: “Your Destiny is in Your hands”. Venerable Dr. Iherue who took his bible reading from Judges 2 verses 2 to 24 called on the congregation not to join the band wagon of lazy people who does nothing in wait of Destiny. He submitted that God has made every man great and pronounced them great but for yielding to weakness of sin, deviating from God’s  promise. He based his narratives on the prophesy before and after the birth of Sampson. He said Sampson was born a great man and was to save his people from the oppression of the philistines but for his weakness to women.

He therefore told the congregation to work out their salvation and destiny by doing that which God has directed, assuring of better future.

Those in attendance during the church service were, Hon. Uche Oguwuike Ph.D, member representing Ikeduru State Constituency in Imo State House of Assembly, Dr. Earnest Nwigbo who delivered the first bible reading, HRH, Eze Henry Madumere, Chief I.B. Okafor, Chief Nnadozie Ude,  Chief Nnadozie Udensi, the Verger of the chapel, Lady Thelma Ibe, a United States based medical practitioner and Fashionista  among many others.

The second in command to the grand commander of the rescue army in Imo State, His Excellency, Prince Eze Madumere has been variously referred to in several terms. He has been called humility personified, the epitome of humility and the specimen of loyalty. Many see him as the man who has manifested unalloyed faithfulness and unflinching sense of cooperation in pursuit of his boss’s avowed goals. Eze Madumere has also been known as one who is in bed with truth and veracity, comfortable in his own skin and capable of working with others—friends and foes alike.

However, in several occasions when the issue is Madumere’s disposition and character most of the pundits have appeared to have more words to offer about his inclination to humility and loyalty than any other trait whatsoever. At any rate, the curious readers, the closer observers and those of us who care about details peer beyond loyalty and humility.

Prince Eze Madumere has risen steadily and towered high under his present boss as he did in God’s own country, particularly in Texas. The poser that comes to mind without doubt is: Could loyalty and humility alone in and of themselves catapult the prince from ordinary worker to several managerial positions in the private sector over there in USA in a record time? Or could they have propelled the one from a friend of Owelle Rochas Okorocha to the Chief of staff of Governor Okorocha and the Deputy to the Governor on appointment and then the nominated Deputy running on the same ticket with his boss and finally the current Deputy, and Oh! did I say, the most known, best recognized— known even by infants and toddlers in Imo state and famous beyond his state of origin; most ebullient and most performing Deputy Governor within the four walls of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. If loyalty were all it takes to excel in both private and public sectors so rapidly then a milestone could do just as well.

And don’t get me wrong loyalty is good, in fact, it is great and humility is awesome. Some of us are disciples of loyalty. I am one. As a matter of fact, Dr, Nnamdi Azikiwe, the erstwhile political guru and doyen of African nationalism once observed that given the opportunity to choose between loyalty and merit he would choose loyalty. Nevertheless, the question presented is whether or not loyalty and humility alone could perform the Madumere magic. In relation to the matter under discussion the answer is a resounding No. To expatiate, loyalty and humility yes, but it is also the brains, the performance, the sense of industry and the merit that did the trick in Madumere.

Interview those who lived and worked with him in USA and they will tell you that Eze was the one to beat when it comes to job performance. That he was never satisfied with just a satisfactory performance. He must exceed expectation of the designers of his job description. The supervisor would teach him the job and then he turns around and began to show him some other details the supervisor did not think about.

Here at home, when Owelle calls Madumere his beloved son in whom he is well pleased he is not just talking of humility and loyalty. The governor himself has explained it at various times. By that description Owelle means predominantly performance. He means that this is a son who burns the night oil with him when the chips are down and it seems the heavens would kiss the earth in a rage.

The prince is handy and participates actively in decision making, in tightening the  loose ends and formulating the policies. Owelle would give Madumere a job to do and he gets it done in a timely manner and exceeding expectation. This Deputy is a man who understands administration, a scientific tactician, an astute planner and strategist whose knowledge of project implementation has attained proverbial heights. Madumere is in full grasp of Imo landscape. He has for years felt the pulse of Imolites, and above all, feels their pain as one of the them.

In sum, what makes Eze Madumere a unique Deputy Governor is rooted in his great efforts and infinite capacity for taking pain. They are not predestined and, or ascriptive endowments from above. Loyalty and humility are but additional attributes that have gone a long way to buttress and highlight the man’s towering personality. A study of the personality of Ezeakonobi Madumere is instructive of the fact that our destiny is not carved for us but by us.

Deputy governor of Imo State,  Prince Eze Madumere stated this while fielding questions from the newsmen shortly after performing the tee-off of first ever Four Clubs Caddies between the age of 12 and 25 organised  by West African Golf Tour Academy at Arsenal Golf Course Obinze Owerri west, Imo State.

Prince Madumere described Golf as one of the sporting activities that has not been given the needed promotion In the State, promising on behalf of the governor Owelle Rochas Okorocha to bring back the past glory of the game.

“Golf is one of the sports that has not really been promoted, it needs to be showcased more in Imo State and Nigeria at large. Although we have Oguta golf course, Arsenal golf course and other wonderful places one can easily come down and play. Some people look the other way because of the wrong impression that golf is an elitist sports. I disagree. What I feel is the problem is because people do not get to see people who play golf around them like other sports. It takes one to influence another. I therefore urge golfers around others to also help to encourage youngsters by talking to them about golf.”

Speaking generally on sports development in the State, he  said the State appreciates the importance of sports in relation to its role as a career line and taking kids off the street. He averred that  the Government is doing a lot in sports development especially at the foundation level, which he described as strategic.

He reminded his came at a time when inter-House was dead. I took it up upon myself to confer with our Governor who ensured that it had to be re-entrenched into school curricular.

It will be recalled that,  as a  sports loving person, Prince Madumere organised the maiden edition of “Prince Eze Madumere athletic championship in field and track events last two years, which has its focus on the young athletes in both in  primary and secondary schools. He said the reason was to arouse the interest of the students  in sports emphasizing the need to “train the young.”

Prince Eze Madumere congratulated the organizers of the game and promising to confer with with the Governor of the State, Owelle Rochas Okorocha to support the golf project with hindsight of its value chain especially in tourism.

The Deputy Governor after tee-off was conducted round the Golf course by the captain Arsenal Country Golf Course Club, Mr. Emeka Ohaegbu who thanked Governor Okorocha who was ably represented by his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere for gracing the occasion and for giving hope to the young golf players.

Speaking further the Captain and the chairman Imo State Golf Association, Mr Ohaegbu said the essence of the tournament is to develop golf game in the State.

July 4, 2017 marks the 53rd birthday of the deputy governor of Imo state, His Excellency, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere (mfr). About twenty-four years ago, this man on a mission and the present visionary Governor of Imo state, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha met in an ordinary circumstance. In their subsequent several years of interaction, they successfully built a relationship of faith and trust in each other. During the 2011 general elections when Owelle was running for Governor, Eze Madumere became his unflinching and unwavering supporter. Owelle’s opponents calculated to use this unique supporter to get at his principal. They clamped Madumere in jail on trumped up charges hoping they could use him to undermine his boss. Shockingly, to Owelle’s enemies Madumere gallantly endured the pangs and shackles of oppression, survived the ordeal, dug in and clung even more firmly to Owelle, the man he believed in, trusted and respected till today.
His Excellency, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere (mfr)

Prince Eze Madumere is a widely acclaimed achievement-oriented individual. Only recently, Eze Madumere aided substantially in attracting funds from the resources outside Imo state for the purpose of developing the State. This assertion emanates from his contributions in attracting Rural Access and Mobility Project, (RAMP); the consolidation of Governor Okorocha’s monumental feat in rural development such as FADAMA, and NEWMAP, an effort which consequentlyhas saved our people from losing their lives, property and farm lands to gully erosions and remedied other ecological challenges. Not long ago, the Deputy Governor travelled to Botswana and South Africa leading adelegation of Engineers of Federal Republic of Nigeria to learn the latest techniques in road construction devoid of asphalting. This technique will be adopted for the construction of 400 Kilometers of rural roads across rural communities in Imo State.

Additionally, the citing of incubation and technology hub in ICAPS Imo State stands out as another evidence of the Deputy Governor’s lending hand to the development of this great state. The Prince in the rescue mission has pioneered Peace and Conflict Resolution within and without the state. Thus for an instance, he was the motive force behind the resolution of the teething border conflict between a community in Abia state and Ihite Uboma in Imo State. Madumere solely played a prominent role in resolving the intractable dispute between Orsu-obodo and Addax oil company; AGIP oil and Ohaji/Egbema; the near-crisis situation between Irete and Nigeria Bottling Company PLC, which almost led to the collapse of the beverage industry’s business in that area. Today peace has prevailed in the area and business is thriving again. Madumere has maintained in no small measure an enduring peace and harmony with his boss and emerged as one of the most celebrated deputy governor in Nigeria.
His Excellency, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere (mfr)
His grim determination to promote the welfare of Imo youths and his unflinching determination to empower them through his PEZE Initiative have caught the sight of neutral observers. This is not to talk of the countless humanitarian activities of Madumere foundation, one of which is his donation of the digital dental machinery to 34th Infantry Brigade of Nigerian Army, Obinze, power generating sets for small and medium enterprises, grants for budding entrepreneurs among others. As a passionate leader, he has freed many poor patients stranded in the hospitals due to lack of funds through his traditional regular hospitall-visits. Due to the Deputy Governor’s dedication and go-getter disposition,Governor Okorocha entrusted the security matters in his hands and the outcome is free, safe and secure Imo State.
Charity they say begins at home. Through the magnanimity of Governor Okorocha, Madumere has put a great deal ofeffort into the development of Mbaitoli, his home local government Area. The long Nkworji- Obazu-Orie Mbieri-Achi road, all the way to Ubomiri; the Orodo-Ogwa road and the Nwaorieubi to Ukwu-Orji road just started serve as the glaring specimen in this direction. His attraction of the magistrate court buildings, the high court in making, the standard police stations with a view to creating a new Mbaitoli judicial district need be mentioned. The reactivation of Mbieri water scheme that was abandoned for over 50 years powered with two power generating sets and provision of electric transformers stand today to his credit.
His Excellency, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere (mfr)
His exposure, experience and quality representation in representing his boss at various events at national and international fora has turned him into a great national figure of great repute. One can go on and on yet, he is only the second in command. Those who understand politics know how hard it is to perform as second in line of authority All credits to Owelle Ndigbo whose free hand policy has enabled The Prince to perform feats. Discussing all the achievements of Eze Madumere in his over four years as a deputy governor is a herculean task fit to be left for the hour of reckoning. For now one can only say, that Imolites wish their highly performing Prince a happy birthday and God’s amazing Grace in abundance.

Madumere: Favoured to Succeed His Boss

Eze Madumere

Imo State deputy governor, Eze Madumere from Owerri Zone of Imo State is favoured to clinch the ‎All Progressives Congress’ ticket for the state gubernatorial election in 2019, but the odds against him are legion, Amby Uneze reports

The route to the development of any society is always pursued by every sane mind, hence success is a relation to many while failure remains an orphan. This succinctly captures the situation in Imo State at the moment as stakeholders begin to make plans to get a successor to the state governor, Rochas Okorocha come 2019.
While the incumbent Okorocha is of the opinion that it is within his capacity to anoint his successor, at least to continue with his rescue mission agenda, as well as protect his interest when he leaves office, others are working frantically against such move, especially the opposition, who believe that Okorocha has not done much to decide who succeeds him.
Judging from the governor’s body language, the people have noticed that his plan is to impose his son-in-law, Chief Uche Nwosu, who also comes from Orlu zone (Nkwerre), the same senatorial district of the governor. For the people of Imo State, that is a plan that should not be allowed to happen. Those opposed to the governor’s plan believe that it will be a slap on their faces and they are already working very seriously to thwart such dream, if the governor ever tries it.
The dominant public opinion has been that if the governor really wants to get somebody to succeed him within his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), he should rather beam his searchlight towards Owerri senatorial district where he also has some faithful loyalists such as the current deputy governor, Prince Eze Madumere, former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), under his government, Sir Jude Ejiogu, the incumbent SSG, Sir George Eche, former Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Dr. Theodore (TOE) Ekechi.
Already these persons one way of the other have expressed interest in the governorship of the state, but the issue now is that the governor seems not to be looking their way or it could be that he is still engaging in decoy by purporting to back his son-in-law.
If the opinions of many people in Imo State are right, Okorocha’s APC has let the state down and had suceeded in making enemies for his party to the extent that many now look forward to other political parties to come and rescue the state.
Their discontent flows from the way and manner Okorocha has continued to impoverish the people he is leading while he has successfully empowered his family members. This, in the word of Imo people has made the Okorocha government “A government of the family of Okorocha by their mentor and for the same family”. This style of governance actually portends danger for the ruling party, and that is mainly the reason why people will be disenchanted with whoever he (Okorocha) will sponsor to succeed him.
However, Okorocha’s government has successfully brought out the latent leadership qualities embedded in the person of Madumere, who is believed to have known and worked with him for over 23 years now, and as such, the choice of Madumere could be seen as the best option in so many ways, especially when experience, humility, accessibility are aken into consideration.
It will be a huge departure from the boss-subordinate relationship and a big opportunity to have a listening government that would follow due process and the rule of law in his dealings with the people. Unlike his boss, the deputy governor is a team player.
Though as things stand today, among those jostling to replace Okorocha, Madumere is not in the picture because he had said it on several occasions that such aspiration is not within his calculation for now. He has continually said: “I am in a joint ticket with my boss (Okorocha) and we are still focused to bring the desired dividends of democracy to the people of the state. The rescue mission agenda which I am part of is still on course”.
But according to a group calling on Madumere to join the governorship race, the reason for the interest in the deputy governor is because he is not ambitious. He is satisfied with what he has at the moment and does not struggle to out-shine his boss, rather he keeps cool. He is satisfied with allowing his boss takes all the credits. For those rooting for him, here is someone who has shown humility and focus and he should therefore be sought after if Owerri zone ticket must be realised.
Generally, he is referred to as “Mr. Humility” by his colleagues. Some state governors have also testified to his humility whenever he represented his boss during national ad regional engagements. Madumere was quoted in a recent interview that his humility was a product of his upbringing by his parents and he had refused to depart from their wise counsel right from his days as a boy. His colleagues and other state governors respect him for his humility and support for his boss at all times, hence they had occasionally and jocularly told his boss that he was lucky to have found a better successor in his deputy. He is also very loyal to his boss, even to a fault.
It is public knowledge that the governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has publicly anointed his deputy, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka to succeed him as governor. This may be the right path for Okorocha to follow. Fayose has remained a leader that is widely cherished because of his penchant for the truth and good governance.
For Okorocha to anoint his deputy as his successor in 2019 means he values the cordial relationship that had existed between them for over two decades. Such relationship is like that of father and son, which normally should not be toyed with.
Okorocha reportedly agreed in 2011, when he was canvassing for the votes of Imo people that he would serve only a single term so that someone from the Owerri senatorial district (most likely Chief Martin Agbaso) could take over in 2015 but along the line, the governor changed his mind. He first humiliated Agbaso through the impeachment of Jude Agabso who was his former deputy.
After the impeachment, Okorocha quickly forwarded Madumere’s name to the state assembly for confirmation as deputy governor and the assembly immediately approved it. Until his confirmation as deputy governor, Madumere was the Chief of Staff to the governor. He was one of the most influential chiefs of staff n the country then.
Madumere, a prince of Achi Mbieri in Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State is the son of His Royal Highness, Eze Henry Anorue Madumere, the traditional ruler of the community.
Despite being from a royal family, Madumere is a friend of everybody. Born in Port Harcourt, he had his primary school in Owerri, secondary education in Lagos and university education in the United States of America, where he obtained a in Business Administration from San-Jacinto College, University of Houston Texas.
Madumere returned to Nigeria for his masters degree at the Imo State University, Owerri. He is in his early 50s and was born on July 4, which coincides with the American independent day anniversary.
While politics is synonymous with controversy, Madumere has had his own fair share of controversy, but for him, the controversies have mostly been minor. For instance, the protest in 2012 over his being named as the chairman of a Shell Gas Plant project in Ohaji/Egbema was one of such.
Truly, there are very few politicians in the country who can claim to be as loyal to their bosses as Madumere has been to Okorocha. When Okorocha first ran for Imo governorship, Madumere returned from the US to serve as the Director for Women and Youth Mobilisation for his campaign organisation under the PDP. He was 34 years old then. Okorocha lost the election though.
In 2002, he returned again and served as chief strategist on media and logistics for Okorocha’s presidential bid. Okorocha lost too. However, former president Olusegun Obasanjo compensated Okorocha by appointing him special adviser on inter-party relations. Okorocha promptly appointed Madumere as his chief of staff in that office.
In the build-up to the 2011 governorship election, Madumere was once attacked with acid, for which he had to undergo a surgery but the scars are still visible on his face. Account had it that as soon as it became clear that the ruling PDP had been humbled at the poll, an apparently elated governor-elect and his supporters retired to the Larmond Hotel – located in the state capital, to hold series of meetings aimed at fine-tuning the take-off of the state.
But just before dusk that day, heavily armed security men comprising the military and police stormed the hotel and demanded to see Okorocha. The leader of the invading troops said he had orders from above to bring Okorocha to the federal capital, Abuja. It was gathered that almost all the supporters of the then governor-elect, who couldn’t stand the sight of the heavily armed and stern-looking security men scurried into safety.
But one man stood his ground – and requested the security men to arrest him instead of picking the then governor-elect. That man is Madumere. Amidst the row between the security men and Madumere over who should be arrested, Okorocha allegedly escaped into safety through an exit at the back of the hotel. Having missed the prime target, the security men bundled Madumere into a waiting security van which drove him straight to a police station, where he was detained before he was dragged to court for alleged obstruction of justice. The court later remanded him in prison custody. He spent 21 days at the Owerri prison before he regained his freedom. No one can argue that Madumere has not paid his dues.
But the fear of Imo people is that Madumere may turn out to be a surrogate to Okorocha bearing in mind that they had remained together for the past two decades. For some others, they just would not want to experiment with the Okorocha days in the state again, rather they want an independent person who will not have anything to do with Okorocha.
However, such fears may be ruled out considering the fact that Madumere has acquired the relevant skills and experience to govern without being tele-guided by anyone.
Conclusively, it is very pertinent to state that Madumere is a fearless leader and one who stoutly believes in his ability to deliver the dividends of democracy when the need arises. Owerri zone would have been fairly treated if one of their own becomes the next governor of Imo State come 2019. That is actually the demand of Imo people especially the people of Owerri zone whose chances of becoming governor in the past had not materialised largely due to greed.
But for Madumere, his greatest asset may be his biggest liability- his boss.
It is public knowledge that the governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose has publicly anointed his deputy, Prof. Kolapo Olusola Eleka to succeed him as governor. This may be the right path for Okorocha to follow.

Prince Eze Madumere is a story of a man of destiny, which every a man would find himself humbled while trying to unveil this man.

Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere was born on the 4th Day of July 1964 to the Royal family of HRH Eze Henry Anorue Madumere and Ugoeze Malinda Madumere of Achi Mbieri, Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo State.

He attended Primary and Secondary Education in Owerri and Lagos State respectively, after which he traveled to the United States of America for further studies. He studied Management and Business Administration in San-Jacinto College and University of Houston in Texas respectively. He holds Masters-Degree in History and International Studies from Imo State University and currently pursuing his Ph.D. in History and International Relations.

While in the United States of America, he worked as an Area Manager, Channels Development in PepsiCo Inc. for thirteen years and also played a key role in expansion KFC businesses and sales. It was the business of the Multinational that took him to over 60 countries of the world.

Prince Eze Madumere is a proud family man, a Knight of Saint Christopher and until very recently was former Chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha OON.

Prince Madumere MFR, Media Strategist, an astute Administrator as well as American trained Management expert. He is a team player and an overall strategist per excellence.

As a Social Engineer, he sought positive change legitimately; that change never came without its life threatening hazards. He was once attacked with electrolyte and and other dangerous weapons for raising a question over the inhuman treatment meted out to the people of Imo State. That poise to make a change was to mark an end to this man whose heart of gold has remained a rare commodity. He was also one of the victims of electoral manipulations as experienced when he vied for the Senate seat in Owerri Senatorial Zone in 2005.

Again, the present Deputy Governor of Imo State is a man whose passion and commitment towards ameliorating the suffering of the less privileged is never in question. This is to the extent that large chunk of his income is dedicated to the orphans and other less privileged. In reflection of this passion, for the past eight years, he has always marked his birthday at Special Homes rather than dine and wine with the Kings, Princes and Princesses.

His contribution to Red Cross International is another testimony of a man who is interested in our world and wants it a better place. He is a member of the Board, Rochas Foundation International. Prince Eze Madumere’s input to late Stella Obasanjo’s Child Care Trust project is also a testimony of his ingenuity and Midas touch to turn anything at all to gold. The success story of Child Care Trust will only be considered a near fiction without a mention of Prince Eze Madumere’s give-all effort.

‘Ogbuhuruzo’ as he is fondly called by his people is an apostle of peace who could spare no cost to achieving it. As the Secretary of National peace Forum, he contributed in effort towards reconciling Nigerian leaders especially the seeming irredeemable severed once. For the first time, National Peace Forum founded by His Excellency, Owelle Rochas Okorocha, brought together Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, Chief Odumuegwu Ojukwu of blessed memory and Gowon together for reconciliation.

For peace to rein, Prince Ezeakonobi is ever ready to stoop not minding whether he is right or not. In the Oil producing communities of Imo State, his name stands out as a peace maker who never negotiated away the interest of the people for any reason. Irete will never forget in a hurry his intervention when it mattered most following the sour relationship between the community and Nigeria Bottling Company Plc, which could have caused blood-letting; he turned the tensed situation around to peaceful and mutually rewarding one. Today, Nigerian Bottling Company, Imo State Plant and world over sees him as a hero of justice and peace.
Orsu-Obodo Community in Oguta Local Government of Imo State will not forget in a hurry his love for peace when he brokered peace between them and ADDAX OIL. Other areas are Awarra Community against Walter Smith Oil Exploration, Shell and its host communities to mention but a few.

However, his loyalty and commitment to selfless service once again made him a victim of political intrigue and intimidation, culminating in his illegal arrest and incarceration by security operatives on trumped up charges based on a so called order from above.

He was confined to an unjust detention for about a week at the Imo State Police Command Headquarters, Owerri for refusing to betray his boss and releasing whatever strategic information of the Rescue Mission Campaign Organization.

As if that was not enough, a kangaroo legal process was speedily initiated based on unfounded and laughable allegation that he led a group of undisclosed persons to throw sachet water at the convoy of former President Olusegun Obasanjo. Thereafter, Prince Ezeakonobi was whisked to Owerri Prisons on awaiting trial for about a month at the time the Imo Rescue Mission was holding the grand finale rally in Owerri. It took the efforts of the Nigerian Civil Societies, their international counterparts and the Media to secure his release.

Little wonder Prince Madumere is today known and referred to as the “Mandela of our time”. His single minded doggedness and effrontery in challenging an evil and wicked administration, even in the face of danger, endears him to all lovers of democracy world-wide.

After the 2011 election where Owelle Rochas Okorocha emerged victorious as the Governor, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere, an oasis of loyalty, humility, diligence, and strategist, was appointed the Chief of Staff to the Governor of Imo State where he exhibited obstinate drive for excellence. He demystified the office and was so effective and efficient that people mistook him for a second timer as Chief of Staff.

For Prince Madumere’s philanthropy, a friend of the down trodden, harbinger of hope for the hopeless and a patriot, the National Honours Award of Member of the Federal Republic (MFR), was well-deserving. He is a recipient of several other awards too numerous to mention from Students, Women Groups, Artisans, Communities and Corporate bodies.

His life history, which is like a story book, has continued to dazzle many. Shortly after Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere MFR was sworn as the Deputy Governor of Imo State, the touching thing was never whether he became the Deputy Governor or having served as Chief of Staff to his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha , the story lies with Ezakonobi’s speech when he said he was content with anything that had always come his way.

“My philosophy is to impact life wherever I find myself”…Today I am a Deputy Governor, position may have change, I believe I know the dangers of power and its temporary nature, I trust I Prince Ezeakonobi remains what he is in strength of character and in humility”.

This great teacher, a mentor to many has not only been a man of peace, humility, hard-working committed family man, he has made men and is still making men and the shocking thing about it is that he does them noiselessly and effortlessly, too.

Prince Eze Madumere today unknowing to him has become a model human product whose market mix is being researched for adoption to better the value of many. So much has been given out from this man and many more shall undoubtedly be unveiled.

In the area of empowerment and life-saving assistance, Madumere would prefer keeping it to chest. He has, however, empowered not less than 5000 youths and young people through scholarships, skill acquisition and sports development. Today, Madumere has consistently sponsored an annual football completion for 25 years. He is the only Imolite who has sponsored Athletic Championship for the younger ones. He is a proud owner of one of the best Football Academy, which has produced players both in the national league and few others who ply their trade at the foreign clubs.

As Human Capital development lover, he has raised a good number of leaders in the polity and in the economy who hold their own. In the rescue Mission administration, Prince Madumere can proudly praise God for using him to bring up some youths of yesteryears to where they are today… mentioning names is of no importance since those in question can always give testimonies.

In the area of Job creation and employment, He has many Nigerians on his employ and helping many other youths and young people securing employment in strategic sectors of the economy in both private and public sectors.

In the presence of all this feat including unmentioned once, His Excellency, Prince Ezeakonobi Madumere MFR would prefer to keep still a low profile life style and says; To God alone be all the Glory.

Member of the Order of the Federal Republic (MFR) was conferred on him by His Excellency, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR, the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Quality Never goes out of Style!

He is Mr. Authentic Not Just Humility Personified

Chinonso Anyalewechi
Today, as family, friends and well-wishers of Prince Eze Madumere gathered in oneness of heart to celebrate his 53rd birthday at the Chapel of Praise, Lake Marlinda, Anglican Communion Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli LGA, Her Excellency, Princess Chioma Rosemary Madumere, the amiable wife of the Deputy Governor, who stood in the gap for her husband (who happened to be absent at the occasion due to an impromptu official trip to United Kingdom), shocked the whole audience with her speech when asked to describe her husband.
Below is an abridged version of her wonderful unwritten speech which clearly displayed her intellectual depth and love for her husband:
“In the same way David cried out in the Bible; “Lord who am I and what is my family that you have done us such great deeds?” So do I cry out today because the mercies of the Lord is incomprehensible. The Bible says that in all things give God the praise and today I am giving God the praise for his mighty works in my life and family. I lack words to describe this very man for whom we are all gathered here to celebrate today. But I’ll tell you what I know about this man in just a word. In fact, I must say that I am very humbled to represent him on this auspicious occasion but no matter how hard I try to be him today i know I cannot wear his shoes because I can never be him. In fact, his shoes are just too big for me So I’ll chose to be myself instead.
You see, Nothing can be more disheartening and painful than dealing with counterfeited characters. Many of us here has in one way or the other experienced the pain and heartache that comes from betrayal, deceit and untrustworthiness of men. If you look around today you’ll see that even our reality shows are not real because they are edited to form a perfect picture of what an ideal world should be. This drags me down to the story of Susan Boyle, a plain looking middle-aged woman unemployed from scotland, who contested for Britain’s Got Talent show in 2009. I remember that when this woman came up on stage the judges and the audience expected less from her just because she replied that her was dream was to try and become a professional singer. They jeered at her believing she must be one of those comic relief characters who was included in the show just to ease off the tension a bit. They paid less concern to her until it was time to sing and she performed the song “I Dreamed a Dream” which got everyone standing mouth agape with rounds of applause clouding the air. In less than no time she sold over 8 million copies of that CD the same year and during the historic visit of Pope Benedict XVI to Scotland in September 2010, she was chosen to sing for the pontiff in Glasgow and there she stood, a woman who was just trying to be a professional, now singing in front of 65,000 people.
This story brings me down to the word Authenticity. Being authentic simply means being yourself, working and serving humanity in your personal domain life separate from what societal influence wants you to be. Authenticity can’t be counterfeited. You can’t buy it with money and you can’t hide it when you have it. So for me, my husband is not mr humility alone as the world calls him, he is actually Mr. Authenticity. He is a compassionate man, a loving father and a true husband, a loyal friend, a caring man, one with an inner strength that I believe when the world taps into it this place will be a better place, he is one with an outstanding kind of courage that words Alone can’t comprehend, he is a true personality who lives his life without any discrimination as he relates to the lowly the way he relates to the mighty. Many wonder why i chose him but my reply is simply that just as God doesn’t look at the face of man but rather at his heart so did i look beyond his face to see his good heart amongst the many things there was to see and I am proud that I chose him. As We celebrate his new age today, I pray that the Almighty God who seeth in darkness and in light will keep him safe from all forms of danger, bless him with good health, longlife and divine wisdom even as he continues to work in the house of the Lord and in unison with his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha for the greater glory of the State. Wherever you are my dear husband, I know that you’re hearing me, I wish you the best there is to wish such an outstanding man on his birthday and I want to know that I’ll always be proud of you. Happy birthday my soulmate”.
Wow! This speech could pass for the best eulogy ever written to a worthy husband from an impeccably romantic and loving wife. I think I see the reason for the sparkle in the eyes of Prince Eze Madumere after long years of suffering and pain. Age indeed is just a number as we again realized today after his wife indeed put many to shame as she shocked them with this incredible speech which they all least expected from such a youngster especially because it was too good to be an impromptu speech. She is just like her husband, a very humble and accommodating young lady who believes that the fear of God is the beginning of wisdom and I believe that God will see them through and grant them many more reasons to celebrate in their home.
