The Imo state Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere ,has spoken on the alleged discreet plan to remove him from office through impeachment.
Madumere, in a chat with journalists yesterday at the VIP Lounge of Port Harcourt International Airport, described the move as a mere fallacy.
“My brothers, I was not in the state when the said impeachment plot was raised. I described such as mere rumour if not fallacious”, he said.
“Many of you may not know may position in this government. I am an integral part of rescue mission government.
“I have paid my dues and have kept faith with the policies of the government I am part of. I do not believe it.
“I have not been served. However, when I get to the state, I should be able to know the real state of things but there is no cause for alarm.”
Meanwhile, the Imo Equity has insisted that Nneoma Nkechi, wife of Governor Rochas Okorocha, is colluding with her husband’s Chief of Staff, Hon. Uche Nwosu and others against Madumere.
The group in a statement on Sunday by its coordinator, Paschal Udochi, noted that recent developments have vindicated them.
They said the recent pairing of the Speaker of Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim, with Nwosu (Okorocha’s son-in-law) had confirmed their claim.
“We are aware of the pairing of Rt. Hon. Acho Ihim of Imo State House of Assembly with Governor Okorocha’s son-in-law, Hon. Uche Nwosu”, the statement read in part.
“This development has in no little way validated our revelation of Governor Okorocha’s wife, son-in-law, a dethroned majority leader of the state legislature, among others’ grand plot to oust Imo Deputy Governor.”
Last week, many persons were injured when the supporters of Madumere and Nwosu fought at a political meeting.
The incident occurred at the council hall of the Mbaitoli Local Government Area, at Nworubi, Madumere’s hometown.
