Imo Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere has congratulated Christians on Easter festivity, describing it as the celebration of the significance of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, which is key to Christian faith.
Prince Madumere’s statement is contained in a press release signed by his Special Assistant on Media, Uche Onwuchekwa.
Prince Madumere urged Christians to celebrate the day, reflecting the humility of Christ who even while facing a painful death full of anguish still yielded to save his friends.
He emphasized the need for Christians to learn from the strength of character of Jesus Christ who despite all inhuman treatments meted out to him forgave even at the point of death at the cross of Calvary.
He therefore called on Christians and Nigerians at large to learn to forgive and to make sacrifices towards helping the needy. He also advised Nigerians to show the same faith and sacrifice while serving the nation in whatever capacity, saying such honourable spirit is the only requisite character to building a Nation of ‘our collective dream.’
