RAMP RURAL DEV. BEGINS FIRST QUARTER 2017 IN IMO, AS TEAM VISITS IMO

Imo State Deputy Governor, Prince Eze Madumere, yesterday received in audience a team led by the National Coordinator of Rural Access and Mobility Project (RAMP), Engr.  Ubandoma Ularanma and the representatives Agence Francaise Development (AFD) who were on working visit to Imo State.
Speaking during the reception of the August visitors of  the State, Prince Madumere expressed gladness to receive the team, saying that it has been the dream of Governor Okorocha to have the State benefit from RAMP.
Prince Madumere who revealed that RAMP has been his baby project since 2012 when Governor Okorocha gave him the charge to ensure that Imo people benefit from the project especially the rural dwellers.
Explaining further, he said that RAMP is a World Bank Assisted Project in conjunction with  the French Development Agency with the Counterpart Fund from Imo State, which seeks to effectively address the issue of accessible roads and other infrastructure in the rural communities to aid agriculture, cottage industries and agribusiness.
He said that Rural Access and Mobility Project, would complement Governor Okorocha’s effort at developing the rural areas of Imo State. He reminded his audience that Governor Okorocha has done an average of twenty kilometer asphalted network of roads in each of the twenty seven local government of Imo State. His word; since my boss gave me this RAMP charge and having known the ample benefits for our people, I am very passionate about it and by God’s grace the set goal of making Imo State much better and more productive will be met. He also averred that he must not fail to also commend the Imo State Coordinator of RAMP, Engr.  John Uzoma for his steadfastness and for working round the clock to ensure that the State would always do its part whenever the need arises.
He therefore commended his guests for considering Imo State among other four States that are benefitting from the project.
Speaking earlier, the National Coordinator of RAMP, Engr. Ubandoma Ularanma said they were in Imo State on non-technical appraisal mission, which will be the last exercise before the final approval for the kick-off of RAMP in Imo State.
He however commended Governor Okorocha for his consistency and belief in the project through his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere who bought into it and  religiously followed it up.
Meanwhile, the Project is supposed to kick-start in the first quarter of 2017 as effort is being made to effectively meet other areas of technical importance.
