A group of Journalists under the aegis of Association of Mbaitoli Journalists has passed a vote of confidence on Imo State Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha and his Deputy, Prince Eze Madumere over their developmental strides in the State.

The group made the commendation when they paid a courtesy visit to Prince Madumere at his country home, Lake Malinda in Achi-Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government of Imo State earlier today.

Mr. Emeka Iwuala, the new Chairman of the group speaking during the visit averred that their visit was propelled by Governor Okorocha’s resolve to transform State. He said the group appreciates the present urban renewal project, which has totally transformed the landscape of Owerri capital territory and its environ to a modern model city.

The leader of the group specially commended Governor Okorocha and his deputy, Prince Madumere for the on going massive road rehabilitations in Mbaitoli local government area of Imo State, which he said has never happened since the creation of the local government despite its status as the biggest local government in Nigeria. His words in parts;  “The local government has produced the high and mighty who occupied various important positions in the Nigeria but have failed in securing government projects in the area of roads and other infrastructure.”

He therefore hailed Governor Okorocha for his magnanimity and love for, first, choosing their son as his deputy and for coming to the aid of the local government, saying that its people have suffered socially, economically and otherwise owing to the deplorable state of the roads in the  local government area. “We are happy for the ongoing rehabilitation of Nkworji-Obazu-Orie Mbieri – renaissance road, Ubomiri-Ukwu Orji road, Ubomiri-Atta road, Orodo-Ogwa Road among many others,” he enthused.

The group swore to support the government of Owelle Rochas Okorocha while encouraging him to continue the good work. Other members of the group who spoke during the visit were Mr. Everest Ezihe, Mr. Victor Durumako as Elder. Theodore Tasie said the prayer.

In his response, the Deputy Governor thanked the group. He promised to take their goodwill messages to his boss, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He encouraged them to continue to support Governor Okorocha who he described as God sent. His words in parts; “I want to thank you all for coming to show solidarity to my leader, our visionary Governor, Owelle Rochas Okorocha. He is God sent. What he has done in Imo is a show of love and care for our people. Free education is one of the policies that has benefitted every home in our State. All the urban areas of the State have been transformed. Dor the first time in a very long time, we are witnessing Federal government presence in all facets. Today, the people of Mbaitoli and Imo State in general are signing a new song of hope.”
